Store Manager

Location: Galway
Reports to: Area Manager


Role Overview:

As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the store, ensuring it operates efficiently and delivers excellent customer service. You will lead a team of 6-8 staff in this busy, fast-paced store, driving sales targets, managing inventory, and maintaining the store’s visual and operational standards. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for retail.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the store team to achieve and exceed sales and service goals.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide feedback, and discuss store performance.

  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to their fullest potential.

  • Create a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.

Sales & Customer Service:

  • Drive sales by creating a culture of exceptional customer service.

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Handle escalated customer concerns effectively and professionally.

  • Promote upselling and cross-selling strategies to maximise sales.

Operational Excellence:

  • Manage daily store operations, including opening, closing, and cash handling procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain stock levels by coordinating with the purchasing team and ensuring timely deliveries.

  • Oversee inventory management, minimising shrinkage and optimising stock levels.

Visual Merchandising:

  • Ensure the store is visually appealing and meets company merchandising standards.

  • Plan and execute promotional and seasonal displays in line with brand guidelines.

  • Monitor and adjust layouts to enhance customer experience and drive sales.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and submit regular performance reports to the Area Manager.

  • Monitor KPIs such as sales, footfall, conversion rates, and average transaction values.

  • Implement strategies based on performance insights to improve store efficiency.


Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail management role, preferably in Fashion or Footwear .

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and improving store performance.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with inventory management systems.

  • Familiarity with visual merchandising principles.
