Stock Control Manager
Location: Roscommon (Onsite)
Contract: Full-Time (39 hours, Monday to Friday)
A well-established and growing retail business is seeking an experienced Stock Control Manager to join its Head Office team. This is a key position within the organisation, responsible for driving stock accuracy, improving inventory processes, and ensuring efficient stock flow across both retail stores and e-commerce operations.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will suit a highly organised, detail-driven professional with strong experience managing stock control within a fast-paced retail or warehouse environment.
The Role
You will take ownership of the stock control and inventory function, ensuring system integrity, accurate stock management, and effective distribution across the business. Working closely with warehouse, buying, and operations teams, you will play a critical role in supporting overall trading performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain accurate stock records across all systems, ensuring correct SKU setup, pricing, and data integrity
- Oversee goods intake, ensuring all deliveries are matched to purchase orders and discrepancies are investigated and resolved
- Manage booking-in processes in line with seasonal demand and operational capacity
- Develop and manage intake calendars to ensure a balanced and efficient flow of inbound stock
- Allocate stock across retail stores and e-commerce based on sales performance and demand
- Monitor stock levels and manage min/max thresholds to avoid stock-outs and overstocking
- Plan and coordinate inbound deliveries in line with warehouse capacity
- Lead cycle counts and stock takes, investigating and resolving any variances
- Oversee returns from stores, ensuring accurate processing and system updates
- Manage supplier discrepancies and liaise with accounts on invoice queries
- Ensure all stock control processes are audit-compliant with clear documentation and procedures
About You
- Minimum 3 year’s experience in a stock control or merchandise planning role at management level
- Proven experience managing or owning a stock control / inventory function
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills and strong overall systems capability
- Experience working with stock systems, ERP, or WMS platforms
- Experience creating and managing intake calendars is essential
- Ability to analyse data, improve processes, and drive operational efficiencies
- Experience within a retail environment is highly desirable
